Rambam - Sefer HaMitzvos As Divided for The Daily Learning Schedule Positive Mitzvah 245
|
This is not an error of duplication. The full-fledged version of this Mitzvah are many and change for those who are learning the one/three chapter a day. The Message for the day from "Bringing Heaven Down to Earth" at the end of this Mitzvah is different than that of yesterday.Positive Mitzvah 245: Conducting Business
Leviticus 25:14 "And if you sell something to your neighbor, or buy something from your neighbor"The Torah deals with every aspect of our lives; not only with the way we pray and study, but also the manner in which we carry out our business.
This Positive Mitzvah establishes guidelines for our business dealings and governs the way we buy, sell, and transfer ownership of property.
These guidelines include writing business contracts, paying for goods with money, or exchanging one item for another.
A married couple asked for a blessing that their children should behave properly. The Rebbe's reply seems simple, but since I have not seen it in any parenting book, I'm including it here. Sometimes the most obvious is also the most inconvenient -- and therefore the most avoided:Behave properly yourselves. When the children see your example, they will naturally want to do the same as their parents. Then it is only a matter of talking with them, step by step, day after day, and eventually it will help.
